Cowpens and Kings Mountain: Day Trip to Revolutionary War Battlefields
The Tour exhibits at both National Battlefields that will explain how these two conflicts changed the course of the Revolutionary War in the Southern colonies and led to the 1781 final victory at Yorktown. Then, take a low-intensity walk along the flat terrain at Cowpens recreating the strategic maneuvers that allowed Colonial troops and cavalry to defeat a superior force of British arms and men. Then walk the pathways at Kings Mountain and visualize how mountain men came from the western frontier and charged up a mountainside using frontier tactics to overpower the larger British force aligned at the mountaintop.
