Carol McKay and Barbara Mann will talk about their journeys as goldsmiths (jewelry makers) and metalsmiths. They will discuss various ways of gaining proficiency in this complex artform and aspects of selling their work. They will also describe the founding of the Athens Metal Arts Guild (AMAG) as a supportive, educational group that does outreach to the community. A slide presentation with pictures of their work, studios, and equipment used in their artform will accompany the talk. Samples of their work will be on view in the classroom.
