Saving America's Heritage Breeds: International Heritage Breeds Week

Cathy will discuss International Heritage Breeds Week, an annual event held May 17-23 in 2020. Its purpose is to raise awareness of endangered breeds of traditional farm animals such as those your grandparents may have raised. Worldwide, one domesticated livestock breed is lost to extinction each month. Those that remain are part of our cultural history. Learn about this event, the nearly 200 breeds monitored by The Livestock Conservancy, and what you can do to help preserve these historic animals.
