This course provides participants with the techniques and practice necessary to confidently deliver memorable, successful presentations.
The course is organized around three central components. "The Preparation" emphasizes body language, vocal delivery, and how to create rapport with an audience. "The Speech" examines how to write notable speeches and use rhetorical techniques to strengthen points. "The Unexpected" focuses on handling questions after your speech, as well as managing stress and nerves.
This course is conducted in a workshop style, providing ample time for participants to practice presentation skills and to draft impromptu speeches. Prepare to be active; breathing exercises, vocal warm-ups, relaxation techniques, and partner and group activities are the building blocks of this course.
Course meets in Missoula. Course is non-credit only.
