Having Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification can be one of the most important career moves you make as a project manager. It is a globally recognized industry certification for project managers demonstrating that you have the experience, education and competency to lead and direct projects.
PMP certification is becoming required by many employers and desired by most; you become much more marketable and can, generally, obtain a higher salary according to the PMI Project Management Salary Survey.
In our certification preparation course, you will learn testing techniques and complete sample test questions that will help you to thoroughly prepare to pass the exam and achieve your desired PMP® designation. The course also meets the 35-hour certification education requirement specified by PMI.
To apply for the PMP, you need to have either:
- A secondary degree (high school diploma, associate’s degree, or the global equivalent) with at least five years of project management experience, with 7,500 hours leading and directing projects and 35 hours of project management education.
- A four-year degree (bachelor’s degree or the global equivalent) and at least three years of project management experience, with 4,500 hours leading and directing projects and 35 hours of project management education.
This is an overview of the requirements. For complete details regarding the PMP eligibility requirements, please view the PMP Handbook for further details or visit: http://www.pmi.org/CareerDevelopment/Pages/PMICredentialOverview.aspx for more information.
If you do not meet the PMP eligibility requirements, you may want to look at the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® certification.
You should also have a basic knowledge of the Project Management Institute's Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®) 5th Edition. We provide course materials; you provide the PMBOK (ISBN # 978-1935589679).
