IC & NIMS TRAINING
National Incident Management System (NIMS) was developed so responders from different jurisdictions and disciplines can work together to during natural disasters and emergencies, including acts of terrorism. This course describes the purpose, principles, key components, and benefits of NIMS. It gives participants an opportunity to practice planning tasks. It also introduces the Incident Command System (ICS) for Public Works Personnel and provides the foundation for higher level ICS training. This course covers the history, features, principles, and organizational structure of the ICS. It also explains the relationship between NIMS and ICS and the NIMS. This training will enable personnel to operate efficiently within the ICS during an incident or event. Participants will be able to take the written tests for IS-100, IS-200 and IS-700 and submit them to the Emergency Management Institute for a federal certificate of completion. 0.8 CEU.
