Become familiar with the beautiful, biologically diverse plant communities around Prescott. We will review the major vegetation types and where they occur, and identify the dominant plant species that make up these types. Learn the characteristics of our most common plant families. On the field day, we will visit several plant communities and identify many of the key trees, shrubs and plants that characterize each vegetation type. Bring a notebook, hand lens, lunch and water for the field trip. Recommended text: Shrubs and Trees of the Southwest Uplands, Elmore and Janish.
