With this hour and a half class, you will have all the tools needed to get through a wide variety of creative blocks. Whether it’s brainstorming new techniques, fear of failure, or confidence challenges; greeting card artist, writer, and marketing professional Sarah E. Miller will introduce students to a variety of exercises fit for even the toughest of blocks. By the end, you will learn new skills, explore the psychology behind creative blocks, and set realistic goals to help propel your projects forward. You will also be given some concrete creative exercises to keep the momentum going.

Continue your Excel journey in the second class in the series and enhance your comfort level when working with data. In this class, we will learn how to work with several functions, sort and filter data, apply conditional formatting, and start working with PivotTables. Prerequisite: Excel I or working knowledge of topics covered in Excel 1. Must have access to MS Office Excel for Windows (version 2016 or higher). Choose Wednesday or Thursday night classes.

Ready for retirement? This course focuses on important concepts and strategies related to retirement planning, such as inflation protection, tax-efficient withdrawals, lifestyle preservation, and providing a legacy. Both retirees and pre-retirees will benefit from attending this workshop.

Introduction to Nonprofit Fundraising is a course designed to empower individuals aspiring to pursue a career in fundraising within the nonprofit sector. This course is tailored to provide a holistic understanding of fundraising principles and equip you with practical skills to thrive in this rewarding field. Handouts will be provided.

Storytelling is a powerful tool for nonprofits to engage audiences, evoke emotions, and drive action. In this workshop, participants will learn the fundamentals of storytelling and how to apply them effectively to convey the mission, impact, and needs of their organization. Through interactive activities and discussions, attendees will gain practical skills to craft compelling narratives that inspire support and create lasting connections with stakeholders.

Join presenter Lynne Dean, a forensic scientist and retired latent fingerprint examiner with the King County Sheriff's Office in Seattle, Wash., as she explores how crime scenes are processed for evidence. You will learn how a forensic fingerprint laboratory works, discuss photographs from real crime scenes, and determine what you see as evidence. You'll also participate in hands-on exercises at home to give you a true "feel" for working with evidence and discover how to distinguish fact from fiction when it comes to your favorite CSI-style TV shows. Student participation is encouraged! This class is for students 18 and older, as some of the content and photos are considered graphic. In addition, participants will need a roll of clear tape (like Scotch tape) and their choice of one of the following: a clear plastic water bottle, ceramic mug (like a coffee cup), or clear sheet protector. Those items will be part of the hands-on exercises they will do during the Zoom presentation.
