VOLUNTEER PARK CONSERVATORY
NEW!
In 1901, City Park (owned by the City of Seattle) was renamed Volunteer Park to honor the volunteers who served in the Spanish-American War. Today, the gardens include five houses of the conservatory: Bromeliad House (2000 species of the pineapple family), Palm House (1200 species), Fern House (tropical ferns & other exotics), Seasonal Display House (featuring seasonal floral displays) and the Cactus House. Our docent-led tour includes information on conservatory plant collections, architectural history, plant acquisition and production, physical facility operation, and behind-the-scenes news. There will be plenty of time for self-exploration around the grounds. Meet GRCC bus at Auburn Center gravel parking lot, 2nd St. S.W., Auburn.
