American Whiskey: A Colorful History

If "the history of whiskey" conjures up visions of outlaws and bootleggers, you're not far off! We'll explore the birth of American Whiskey and its storied evolution, from European settlers to the expansion westward to a burgeoning Kentucky industry, Prohibition, and the modern whiskey boom. We'll taste different styles of Bourbon, Rye, and other whiskeys, and come to appreciate how far America's classic spirit has come! Taught by Christopher Gronbeck, owner of The Barrel Thief Wine & Whiskey Bar in Fremont, and Sommelier David LeClaire of Seattle Uncorked. Students must be 21 or older; picture ID required. Please eat before coming to class. A $10 materials fee is due to instructor in class.
