The job of the Production Designer is to create the world in which characters live; this class aims to provide an overview of what the job of a Production Designer and the Art Department crew entails, as well as the hierarchy of a film set as it relates to the positions within the Art Department. You will learn the basics of breaking down a script as well as some tools that can help you better communicate your design ideas to the Director and your crew. You will each create a mood board for a scene of your choosing, and we will discuss it as a class.
