Script Supervising

Script Supervisors are the unique unicorns of the film set. No other position walks onto their very first film set as a Department Head. There is no apprenticeship, no hierarchy, and no advancement in the Script Supervising department: we arrive at the top. We are a department of one. The Script Supervisor is a key crew position that supports the Director on set, and as such, is generally the best position to transition to directing. We work closely with all the other departments to check continuity and generate production paperwork. The Script Supervisor is the sole advocate representing the post production department during filming. Script Supervising is a position that few people understand, and fewer feel called to perform, often due to the misconceptions of our niche position.
