Vinyasa yoga is a form of Hatha Yoga, the most popular form of yoga practiced in the U.S. Vinyasa means “moving with the breath” and is also called Flow Yoga; we will practice a series of simple yoga poses done in a sequence. I will demonstrate and then perform each movement with the class as we explore poses designed to increase our flexibility, strength, and balance. Moving with the breath helps us to connect our body with our mind, which calms us and enables us to focus. We will go into rest positions throughout our practice, and I will present options or modifications for each pose. Most importantly, we will listen to our bodies. Our yoga practice is only for ourselves, and is what each of us wants to make of it.
