Four of our classes are in the field. Locations may include downtown Sarasota, St. Armand’s Circle, John & Mable Ringling Museum, and others. Students show photographs from excursions during two classes. The first class will: • Review ethics and legalities of street photography. • Discuss strategies for dealing with any apprehension about photographing on the street. • Present examples of styles of street photography, such as in-your-face, candid, posed, fashion, formal (graphic/abstract/impressionistic/juxtaposition), documentary (story), and so forth. By the end of the class, students have an idea for a street-photography project. Any digital camera is okay. Bring your camera's manual if you have it. Make sure the battery is charged and that there's space on the memory card. Got a question? Ask the teacher, Jim Beecher, at http://www.photokaboom.com/ask_Jim.php.
