Guitar, Beginning 2  

This course is a continuation of Guitar, Beginning Part I. You should have an understanding of the guitar neck up to the 5th fret and how to play the major and minor chords in the first position. You should know how to read standard music notation, including basic rhythms, time signatures, and chord symbols. This class will cover more advanced standard rhythm and accompaniment patterns and basic finger style techniques. You will increase your chord vocabulary and apply acquired skills through practical ensemble. Required text: Hal Leonard Guitar Method, Complete Edition: Books and CDs 1, 2, and 3 by Will Schmid and Greg Koch. This book is available on amazon.com. Please bring to class the required text, a six-string guitar, medium-gauge guitar picks, and a music stand.
