This course will consist of one classroom session for the beginning birder, covering binoculars, field guides, and preliminary identification skills to arm the student with the basics needed to venture out in the field and bird at several local birding hot-spots. Dozens of common bird species will be observed, including waders, waterfowl, shorebirds, raptors, and songbirds. Students will be responsible for supplying their own optics, for transportation to the four field locations, and for any park fees incurred.
