Acrylics Level 2: Modigliani Portraits

Amedeo Modigliani is an Italian treasure. He is known for his modern style portraits characterized by elongation of faces, necks, and figures. We will be drawing inspiration from his asymmetrical compositions, exaggerated figures, and simple but monumental use of line. This is a level 2 course geared for students with a beginning knowledge of painting having painted before and wanting to feel more success and confidence in painting. Students will: begin and be close to completing each class project in the same step-by-step instruction offered in my Level 1 Acrylics Course; be learning and observing various aspects of [painting an interior scene using the procedures and skills necessary to create a successful painting. Attention will be given to ‘the bones’ of painting such as composition, value, and color relationships, etc. Cost of supplies is $100-$125, depending on where they are purchased, this will be discussed at the first class.
