If you’ve ever poured your heart out in a journal, or wanted to write about your life for your grandchildren, or had an unusual experience you thought would make a great book, this class is for you! Using various “prompts,” or ideas to use as starting points, you’ll write for a few minutes in class as directed by the instructor, then read aloud to the rest of the class (if you choose). Between class meetings, you’ll work on an assigned project – if you don’t already have one in mind – and share portions of that project with the class periodically. The class will cover, as needed, aspects of writing such as structure, organization, and style, but the primary focus will be expression of your ideas, and how to express those ideas in the most compelling way.
