A rose is a rose is a rose, but can you conjure up the smell, the surroundings or what the photographer was thinking when you see a pleasing photograph of a rose? Do you want to take photos of one of the earth's prettiest gifts knowing how to compose properly? Are you tired of seeing over saturated nature of flowers on your social media? A class in Flower Photography might be just what you need to accomplish your botanical goals! In this class photographer Janet Combs will go over the basics of composition and those slider bars in your software to ensure you are capturing and presenting the beauty of flowers. Please bring links to photos you find on your social media that you believe are representative - or not - of flowers and we will have a critique during the first class. In the field we will practice what we learn in the classroom and spend time making flower portraits. For the field activities please wear sturdy shoes and bring water, an umbrella and of course, your camera. Cell phone cameras are fine for this course. Please set up a free FLICKR account prior to coming to the first class.
