Gouache is opaque watercolor. Gouache has a long history, having been used for at least twelve centuries. Although it is also water based it works different than watercolor. It is also made with a natural binder and has usually a higher pigment load, to add to the opacity. This course is designed for painters who want to learn how to make plein air studies. You can use it on paper as well as canvas. To understand the color range of yours we will make individual color charts and practice on still lives inside as well as outdoor field trips.
