Photoshop Elements 1 - Basic

Your camera develops your photos for you. Can you do a better job? Yes! You're more creative than your camera. You'll learn how to adjust the exposure and contrast. You'll also learn how to lighten and darken parts of your photos (burning and dodging). Organizing your photos will be covered as well. Extensive handouts are included. We'll cover the first third to half of this outline: http://photokaboom.com/menus/PSE_menu_beginners.htm.
*Students may use a computer in the lab or can bring in a laptop.
*If using a school computer, bring some of your photos to class on a large capacity flash drive. A 128 MB flash drive is about $28. Windows users can use a flash drive or an external hard drive.
*Got a question? Ask the teacher, Jim Beecher, at http://www.photokaboom.com/ask_Jim.php.

NOTE #1: On your laptop or desktop computer at home, you can use any version between 11 and the latest version. The program is often sold bundled with Premiere—a video editing program. Don't buy Photoshop Elements with Premier unless you want a video editing program (not taught).
NOTE #2: This is a Photoshop Elements class—not Photoshop. However—if you have Photoshop CC—and are adept at using software and computers—you can use Photoshop CC at home.
NOTE #3: Windows 10 users: Photoshop Elements requires a 64-bit version of Windows 10. Press the Windows key + Pause key. Look for System Type. If you see 32-bit, please contact the teacher.
