In this class you will learn the standard tuning of a six-string guitar, including the names of the open strings and some basic music terminology helpful in understanding chord and rhythm guitar notations and tablatures in most song books. You will be given a few simple guitar aerobic exercises that will help you quickly improve your grip, precision, dexterity and flexibility. You will learn basic simple chords in the first position, as well as a few strumming and fingerpicking techniques. All this will be applied to several recognizable songs.
Please bring a notebook, a pen and a pencil, a six-string guitar (either with steel or nylon strings. It can also be acoustic/electric guitar), a guitar pick, your cellphone where we will install a free Guitar Tuning app and Digital Metronome.
