Crochet & Knitting

If you were lucky enough to learn to sew at your grandmother’s knee, you are way ahead of the game. If not, you are still in luck, because ACE can fill that role! Our fiber arts classes include basic sewing skills as well as more involved fiber arts such as quilting, which can really come in handy when baby gifts are called for!

No previous knitting experience is required. It is suggested you bring to the first class the following supplies: Yarn Weight: Choose yarns labeled "Chunky," "Bulky," or "Super Bulky" (weights 5 or 6). Needle Size: Pair chunky yarn with correspondingly large needles, often US size 10 (6mm) or larger. Color: A lighter, solid color (avoid black) will make stitches even more visible. a set of size 8 knitting needles and a light-colored skein of worsted-weight cotton yarn.

ONE DAY CLASSES ARE NONREFUNDABLE. Essential Supplies: •Yarn: Acrylic worsted weight (medium #4) is a popular, budget-friendly choice, but any yarn works. You may want multiple colors if you are interested in changing colors. •Crochet Hook: Choose a size recommended on the yarn label (e.g., 4.5mm or 5.0mm for worsted weight).
