Su W F 1/24/2018 - 2/9/2018

WHERE WE ROW: Our Learn to Row Program is conducted at the Sarasota County Rowing Club boatyard at Blackburn Point Park in Osprey, about 5 miles south of Sarasota Square Mall. There is plenty of parking at the park in the mornings when we row.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Rowing is tremendous exercise, and if you continue on with the sport, you will find yourself in the best physical condition of your life. However, it is not for everyone; you must meet certain minimum physical requirements to start. You must be in good health, physically active, and able to swim at least 50 yards. Rowers have to carry heavy boats, so you must be able to lift at least 35 pounds over your head. Some flexibility is also required, so you must be able to bend over with your legs straight and touch your ankles. Rowing can be a challenging sport, so getting wet, tired, and challenged is all part of the fun!

 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM Fee: $250.00
Wed & Fri 8-9:30am; Sun 9-10:30am What to wear & bring: Close fitting quick dry sports top. Spandex shorts for men and women. A cap and sunscreen is recommended. Water shoes, not flip flops, and short socks. NO phones, cameras or excessive jewelry. A water bottle and small towel. Many rowers carry a small cinch bag to hold belongings. What You Get: Everyone who completes our Learn to Row Program receives a certificate of completion and if you want to continue your rowing experience you will be eligible to join the Sarasota County Rowing Club and participate in our Novice Rowing.
