The proposed course will trace the history of product and service advertising from ancient times to the early 2000’s, using a variety of still photos and instructional and commercial videos. Definitions of advertising will be offered, along with primers on the subjects of patents, copyrights and trademarks/logos, without which advertising – and consequently – many products and product improvements - would not have existed.
