In this course, students will learn the fundamental skills for use in a fabrication studio lab in the ACC Hive Makerspace. Students will learn to use both analogue and digital methods for fabrication to take their designs from 2D to 3D constructions. Assignments will include both technical and conceptual exercises using software and tools such as 3D printing, laser cutting, cnc, and woodshop.

This class presents the fundamentals of digital photography, including camera equipment and software used for creative photography. Topics include camera settings and exposure control, composition, working with light and time, and creative image manipulation using apertures, shutter speeds and post processing. This class runs concurrent with a for-credit academic class. Recommended: a digital camera with manual exposure capabilities. ACC does not provide Adobe access for community members.

- Landscape Photography (Academic Noncredit)

If you love the great outdoors, capturing beautiful landscape and wildlife pictures, this class is for you! Here you’ll learn about the specialized tools and equipment used to make great landscape photographs. We’ll focus on traditional and cutting-edge approaches to landscape photography, and examine historic, technical, and aesthetic aspects of landscape photography through lectures, group discussions, field studies, photographic assignments, and image critiques. You’ll learn to use smartphone apps for planning, techniques for capturing star trails and painting with light, using filters and Adobe Photoshop for enhancing images, and much more. A basic knowledge of photography is required (if you don’t have basic camera knowledge, enroll in the Digital Photography I class first!). Your instructor, Angela Faris Belt, will guide the class on two optional 4-day weekend travel trips to some spectacular landscapes (locations and dates TBD).
