Ready to dig deeper? This class is for people who have some acting experience — whether from a previous scene study class, community theatre, or formal training — and want to continue sharpening their craft through more rigorous work.

We'll dig into script analysis, exploring how to break down a scene, identify objectives and tactics, and uncover the subtext beneath the words. You'll work on monologues drawn from published plays and develop the skills to make bold, specific acting choices that serve the story. 

Step into the world of Broadway in this lively adult movement class! Learn choreography inspired by iconic musical theatre numbers like Chicago’s “All That Jazz,” A Chorus Line’s “One Singular Sensation,” and “Seize the Day” from Newsies. Build confidence, coordination, and stage presence. No previous dance experience required, just a willingness to move and have fun. 

In this class, students will develop character, stage presence, and vocal expression through some of their favorite musical theatre songs! They will learn small-group numbers that include solo singing opportunities, as well as a full ensemble piece. Throughout the course, students will explore what it means to work together as an ensemble while also building confidence in their individual voices.

In Intro to Scene Study, you'll learn the fundamentals of acting through exercises, open scenes, and guided scene work. We'll focus on active listening, honest reactions, and how to bring genuine emotion to a scene without forcing it. Through exercises, open scenes, and guided exploration, you'll begin to understand how actors make choices — and start making your own.
