In this class students will develop some fundamental woodworking skills through making a solid maple stool. Students will have some variation in the height of their stool based on their desired application, which might include things like a step stool, child’s stool, squatty potty, plant stand, computer stand etc. Once the pieces are brought to their final dimensions at the chop saw, students will use hand tools and the band saw to cut mortise and tenon joints to connect their leg pieces. After the pieces are glued up, we will do some final shaping and finishing of the stool components.
All materials and tools will be provided, but students are welcomed to bring their own hand tools, including block plane, chisels, marking tools.
Ages 16 and older welcome! FREE for youth with financial need - call us at 360-350-0187 for enrollment at no cost.
