Ages 18+
Please note that beginning this August 5th, 2022, BIPOC Ceramics Classes will be held on Fridays, 6-9pm.
This program is designed to create an artistic and creative community for people of color. Twice a month we will hold this session for anyone who would like to learn ceramics or work on clay projects. There won’t be a traditional class structure, but wheel throwing, trimming, coil and slab demonstrations will be available to those interested. It is a great opportunity for those with little or no experience as well as experienced artists who haven’t had space to produce work. Included in the class are materials and firings. Students who pre-register are guaranteed a spot, while drop-ins may be turned away to ensure we do not exceed capacity limits for Covid safety. Please read our Covid policy below.
*If you are registered for a class but cannot attend please let us know so that someone else can take your place.
Appropriate for all skill levels.
Class takes place at Arbutus Folk School, 610 4th Ave E, Olympia, but class entrance is through the alley on Cherry St.
All materials, tools, and equipment will be provided.
Students may wish to bring an apron and dress in clothing that can get dirty.
Open to students ages 18 and older.
This class is offered at no cost to participants so that anyone who interested is able attend. Thank you to Nisqually Indian Tribe, Washington State Arts Commission, and local community members who have provided support for this program.
