This course will help students discover common woodworking machines and how to use them safely. Through this course students will learn how to use a miter saw (chop saw), jointer, planer, and bandsaw safely and effectively. Alongside this learning will be many “pro” tips for working efficiently.
Instructor will discuss and then demonstrate how to use the machines to mill a rough piece of wood square, flat and parallel on each surface. Students will then mill their own (provided) lumber as practice and demonstrate their knowledge and skill. Successful completion of the course will be recorded and the student will be qualified to use these machines during Woodshop Open Studio sessions.
Appropriate for all skill levels.
