This course will be taught in two sessions. In the first segment, students will learn to use basic woodworking hand tools such as saws, marking gauges, combination squares, chisels, marking knives, and hand planes. Description and discussion will be followed by coached practice in the use of these tools. All this will take place before moving to the second segment.
The second session will provide a practical application in the use of woodworking hand tools to the process of making a hardwood 8x10 Arts-And-Crafts picture frame.
Although not a prerequisite, this class would be an excellent primer for the upcoming Dovetail Box course coming in March.
