Each student will create a variety of needle felted cactuses to "plant" inside of a ceramic pot. These cactuses are soft and colorful and don't need sun or water!
Needle felting is the process of using specialized barbed needles to sculpt wool fiber. As the needle touches the wool, it grabs onto the fiber and compresses it together, turning it into a solid shape.
Students do not need to have prior experience with felting as this is an entry level project. Come learn how to safely use the needle felting tools! All felting supplies will be provided to students, with take-home tools to continue needle felting on your own.
Appropriate for all skill levels.
All materials (including a decorative 4" clay pot), tools, and equipment will be provided.
Clases takes place at Arbutus Folk School, 610 4th Ave E, Olympia.
For students enrolled with OASIS, this class may qualify as a CBI for your arts learning. Please contact us at info@arbutusfolkschool.org to make arrangements for your student.
