This six session course is appropriate for students at all levels of experience who possess an interest in wheel thrown pottery. It is a great opportunity for beginners to learn the process by which a soft lump of clay is transformed into a finished ceramic piece. Advanced students will have the chance to expand their understanding of wheel thrown pottery, attempt new techniques, and develop their personal style. In addition to throwing, surface treatment methods like slip decoration and glazing techniques will be explored. A variety of pottery traditions will be addressed and discussed throughout the scope of the class. Appropriate for all skill levels. Course includes clay, and bisque and glaze firings. Please bring a towel and apron that can get dirty.
Note: Before registering for a series (a course which contains more than one class) students should make sure that individual class dates aren’t in conflict with their schedules because we cannot provide refunds or make-ups. Course payment is for the entire series and not individual classes within the series. If you do miss a class, let your instructor know, and they will be happy to answer your questions about what you may have missed.
