In this 6-session introductory course, students will explore the basics of wheel throwing, including centering, opening the clay, and pulling up the walls to produce a cylinder. They will then learn a variety of ways to alter the cylinder to create different functional forms, as well as play with texture and different surface treatments, and use slips and glazes. Beginners will get an introduction to the process while those who are more advanced will work on improving and solidifying their skills.
Appropriate for all skill levels. No prior experience is required.
Course includes clay, bisque and glaze firings.
Please bring a towel and apron that can get dirty. Wear layers to adjust for comfort.
