Students new to woodworking as well as those with previous experience will learn and use basic construction skills to create a customizable pine Shaker peg rail with hanging shelves. Students will use drills, saws, and planes, and will be guided in designing a small hanging shelf to suit their storage needs.
At the end of the class, students will take home a completed project in the Shaker style that can be mounted on their walls at home for stylish and functional storage of coats, hats, spices, toys, bags, towels, and more. This class will show students that they can use limited tools to design and create wood projects for their home to use and enjoy every day.
