You have learned a number of embroidery stitches: Now What?!!
This needle book course is designed for students who have taken the Beginning Embroidery and Continuing Embroidery courses. We will put all those stitches into action in a single design that uses much of what you have learned. The needle book (or a traditional embroidered book of felt pages where you can safely store needles) will be made of linen twill, with dimensions of 10" x 6". This exercise will further explore the variety of uses of each stitch and give you valuable experience in interpreting a design in many different ways. Just to make it even more interesting, the instructor will also teach you a few new stitches!
The instructor will prepare a kit for each student that includes linen twill with the design drawn on, 4 shaded skeins of Appleton's crewel wool, #22 Chenille needles, and printed instructions. Please purchase your kit for $16 from the instructor at the start of the first class. (You may contact instructor to discuss any substitutions.) Students will also need to bring the following to class: a small pair of scissors (for clipping threads) and a 5" or 6" screw-type embroidery hoop. (The instructor will also have a few hoops to lend out and a few good quality 5" hoops available for purchase for $9, on the first day of class.)
Appropriate for intermediate skill levels, as some experience with using a needle and thread is necessary.
