In this three hour workshop we will combine pre-cut shapes to make your holiday decorations sparkle with the beauty of glass. You can make frosted glass snowmen, gleaming Christmas trees, and winter ornaments you design and decorate. A truly festive Pacific Northwest occasion with music and snacks! Individuals, families and groups are all welcome to come and enjoy the holiday spirit together!
This is a beginning level course. No experience is necessary. The basics of kiln casting and vocabulary terms will be presented, and students who complete the class will be eligible to participate in next-level glass classes with the instructor. All supplies are included. Please wear closed-toe shoes and long pants in the glass studios.
This workshop is taught by renowned glass artist, Mary Van Cline, and takes place at Glass-Studio.US, located right off Hwy 101N, just 10 minutes from Interstate 5/West Olympia in the New Kamilche area. Mary will email exact directions to all registered students prior to the start of the course. Your finished glass work can be picked up at Arbutus Folk School, 610 4th Ave E, the week after the course ends, during any of our Ceramics Open Studio hours: Sundays (9am-noon), Mondays (6-9pm), and Thursdays (2-5pm).
