Join special guest Elsy Dinvil for a class exploring the art and craft of Haitian cuisine. Together we will prepare (and enjoy eating!) traditional dishes such as Pikliz, fried plantains, rice and beans, vegetable rice, Haitian mac and cheese, paté, fried and baked empanadas, gryo with deep-fried pork, and veggie chicken wings in creole sauce, with several items available for those avoiding gluten and for those avoiding animal products.
"I love to cook and enjoy bringing close and new friends together over tasty food," Elsy shares. Elsy is the founder and owner of Creole Enterprises LLC, offering products, cookbooks, and catering that combine her Haitian roots with healthful and richly flavored food for her community.
All ingredients will be provided. Bring an apron if desired, and plan to eat a meal at the culmination of the class. Long hair should be tied back.
This course will take place at The Olympia Center, 222 Columbia St NW, Olympia, WA 98501.
