Idea Mapping Using MindManager

This course teaches the basics of Idea Mapping and using the software MindManager to capture and organize information. Idea Mapping gives anyone that collects, develops or organizes information a new way to notate and structure that information into a useful, easily remembered product. It is useful to students, project managers, strategic planners, business analysts, facilitators and product developers.

The course is hands-on and students will have ample opportunity in class to create maps that are immediately useful. Students will create an electronic ‘To-Do’ list, a map of a project important to them, work collaboratively to create a team map and create an outline of a simple project using the project management capabilities of MindManager.

Students will receive a free copy of the most current version of MindManager including three years-worth of version updates from Mindjet, the software developer (a $550 value). Project Managers may also receive Professional Development Units (PDUs) from the PMI organization for this class.

Students must bring their own personal windows-based computer as well as a mouse. Students will be able to work on their own computer which is familiar to them and be able to easily take their work home. We can also support Apple computers as long as they have Windows emulator software.

Please note that Bellevue College will not be providing computers to work with and students are responsible for bringing their own personal computer, mouse and charger to class.
