Cameras may TAKE photographs, but the photographer MAKES the photograph. Explore why a photograph is not just technically sound, but compelling and evocative. It is all about the design of the image, what is included and what is not, about relationships created and avoided. Learn the principles of strong composition and when to follow them and when not through presentations plus weekly assignments. Assignments will include photographing agreed-upon themes at home and in our communities, harvesting your photographs and conducting online research of crowd-sourcing photographs by others to share. Assignments will be posted on Flickr.com and shared in live sessions on Zoom. An extensive handout will be shared online. Select two photographs to share as part of your introduction in the first Zoom meeting. For all skill levels using any digital camera, phone to mirrorless.
