This course emphasizes the fundamental concepts of nutrition with focus on the relationship of nutrients to overall health and well-being. Dietary habits, nutrient requirements, food choices, healthy eating practices, menu planning, food shopping and food preparation are studied. The overall goal for this course is to enhance student knowledge of food choices and motivate students to improve the diet and lifestyle.
