TELOS - Science of the Cold War NEW!

The Cold War forced the US to heavily invest in leading edge scientific programs. Some stories are well known, e.g. the initial development of the internet, but most are not. We will explore how DoD funding created technological advances in electronics, communications, medicine, weather prediction, etc., including seemingly in congruent developments such as the theory of plate tectonics, an improved understanding of the environment, and a study of the early universe.
