TELOS - Plant and People   NEW!

This course introduces students to the ideas behind the field of ethnobotany. Do you dream of exploring the Peruvian Amazon to visit indigenous people and meet their shaman? Which plants do people use in the high mountains of Asia to overcome altitude sickness? Are there really miracle plant foods that can result in longevity with exceptional health? Take this class to find out about the realities of how plants have assisted humans throughout the world to live better lives. This class is taught by a trained sociocultural anthropologist with a specialty in ethnobotany, but will be a fun exploration together.
