Identities of Latin America
NEW!
In this exciting course, students will learn about some of the ethnic diversity in Latin America. How have Chinese migrants helped to shape Panama? Did Mexico and Peru combined have more African slaves than the U.S.? We will look at the answers to these questions along with exploring Indigenous populations in Bolivia and southern Mexico. Finally, we will discuss European migration into Chile and Uruguay. The course will include films, poetry and a large emphasis on oral communication. This is a course designed for students with an advanced or intermediate level and up. Class is taught mostly in Spanish.
