Video Games with JavaScript for Teens  

This course gives students an opportunity start learning JavaScript and dive into a deeper understand and apply mathematical concepts such as coordinate system, variables, matrices, Pythagorean theorem, determining if a point belongs to a circle and others.

Students will be making Gallery, Sudoku, Piano, Paint< Treasure Hunt and Matching Memory Games. After they learn the new concepts of the class, students will have a lot of freedom in the implementation of the games.

While making video games students will learn the following: • HTML elements • Applying CSS • Linking HTML and JavaScript • Variables • Conditionals • Loops • Functions • Classes and Objects • Animating • Working with keyboard and mouse events • Event handlers • Timer events and their handling • Hit Testing

All coding will be done with JavaScript, HTML and CSS only without any third party library. We consider this very important as it promotes deeper understanding of the techniques involved.

** Registration for teen class must be made under participating student's name. NOTE: This may require creating a new profile for the registration.
