TELOS - The Long 1960s: Popular Music and Social Change
NEW!
The 1960s in the United States were a time of turmoil and “change” with religious, social musical and political implications for the present. This course will explore this period through the songs that framed, responded to and have come to represent the era. We will explore the life span of the songs of the Civil Rights Movement as well as the popular music of the time. Using Music as a primary historical source, we will trace the social movements of the 1960s.
