The Henriad continues with this epic double header! The second in a TELOS series to examine Shakespeare's epic tetraology this course is an exploration into Shakespeare's take on his own nation's history. Political Thriller. A Comedy and a Coming Of Age Drama. Historical Fiction. Through a close reading of the play, investigation of historical contexts, discussion of characters, structure, plot, and theatrical conceits, with particular attention attention paid to the Shakespeare's extraordinary language; participants in this course will have the opportunity to dive into the text and contexts of William Shakespeare's HENRY IV Parts One and Two
