TELOS - Iconoclastic film directors of the 1970s   NEW!

The 1970s were filled with absurd styles and monumental change in movies. Restrictions on language, adult content and sexuality, and violence had loosened up, and these elements became more widespread.. And Hollywood was renewed and reborn with the earlier collapse of the studio system. This course will examine the films of the most important and influential directors of that decade, such as Hal Ashby, Robert Altman, John Cassavetes, Arthur Penn, Francis Ford Coppola, Martin Scorsese, Brian DePalma and many others. Generous film clips will make everything crystal clear.
