A Swift Survey of Ancient Chinese History

This course coverx 3,000 years of Chinese history starting with the earliest bronze age, ancestor worshiping dynasties and onward from the Han to the Mongolians. Students will learn the early philosophies of Confucius, Daoism, and the Buddhists that defined culture, right down to the civil service exams. Students will explore the Silk Road and dip into the glorious culture of art and poetry, from the terra cotta warriors to the exquisite landscapes painted on silk.
