Roots of Rock & Roll: 1960s

This course will examine the songs and the performers who shaped the music of this decade. We will review how genres continued to change and morph. With the help of Motown, Rhythm and Blues moved to Soul; The Surf Sound added the Hot Rod scene, Rockabilly became Country Rock and Folk-Rock melded into Psychedelic. Along the way we'll review one hit wonders, examine Top 40 Radio, hear plenty of demos and outtakes and have a fun quiz or two.
